I shot a photo the other night for the organization Heterosexuals for Same Sex Equality. The campaign is called Straight Not Narrow. They’d asked me to include the words “Straight Not Narrow” in the photo, but after much thought, I couldn’t come up with a concept that included the words. My language is photography, and I find it hard to mix English in there too. I always found photos that include words to be a bit heavy-handed. In a photo, I feel that if you can’t say what you want to say visually, then maybe you need to think about how you’re saying it. Anyway, here’s what I came up with to say “Straight Not Narrow.”
Straight not narrow

I think it’s interesting. But even with the colors, I wouldnt have figured out that it was heterosexuals for same sex equality unless you told me.
Did the text have to be added later on? What about smudged on their skins?
Yea but you’re kind of special Diny. 😛 The concept is not “heterosexuals for same sex equality.” That’s the organization that is running the campaign. The concept is “Straight not narrow,” which means straight people can support gay rights. Straight couple, painted in gay pride colors. It’s pretty simple I think!
And my whole point is that I don’t want the words in there at all, smudged or otherwise.
I totally get it and the photo is awesome
