We all know Borat is really Mahir Cagri. It doesn’t make him any less funny, even though he’s only thinly disguised. 😛

i concur. that crossed my mind at some point as well…
I KISS YOU
i like sex
Perhaps his image, but I see Borat as the stereotypical foreigner that everyone here in the US seems to picture. Thick accent, and coming from a place that makes little or no sense to most of us here. Perhaps not to that extent…..but thats where the humor lies. And whats funny is that even some of his most outrageous claims are true in some parts of the world. But Im getting close to the deep part of the pool now….more than I should for this particular entry =P
niiiice!
well, see, the funny in the movie was the reactions of the people… it seemed in parts (or even in the whole) the movie makes fun of US far more than it does of the stereotype. (“we support your war of terror!” *CHEEERS*)
sacha cohen is ALI G….That dude is way too funny…I almost never recognized who he was if it had not been for his name. See the movie first b4 posting comments…!
btw…where did you find the link to this guy?!!! you must have waaaayy too much free time 😉
borat=ali g=funny, piss your pants funny
yeah… mahir cagri has been around for years. i saw his website in back 2002 when it was really popular because of its stupidness. i guess cohen saw it too 😛 and yeah, i think most comedy fans know that cohen plays ali g, borat, and bruno.
Yea James forgot bruno. Lets cage him.
And Olya, thats exactly why the character ended up making fun of people in the US (in the movie at least, in the shows its of people all over). Perhaps they got caught up with the whole foreigner and didnt realize how he was flipping things over.
yes…regardless, Cohen has a hit on his hands…25 Million opening weekend, or something like that! Banned in Russia though this flik, maybe I should bootleg this dvd for the Russian market…hehehehehe
