Hesi and I went to see Matrix: Revolutions last night. What can I say? :eyepopping: Of course, it had the usual regimen of insane action scenes, mindbending pseudo-intellectual philosophy, orgasmic special effects, and copious bad acting on the part of Keanu. The writing was fantastic, if for only this reason: they limited the number of lines and words to be spoken by the wooden and thoroughly unaffected Neo.
There was also a good deal of cheese thrown in there too. Case in point: Neo and Trinity’s final scene together (I won’t spoil it for you, but when you see it I think you’ll know what I mean). But, that being said, it’s a worthy wrap-up to a tremendous trilogy that deserves a lofty place in the history of film.
that’s what i was thinking about! “history of film”
like, it is so obvious that this movie will be around for YEARS and… i feel cool i was there for the beginning, you know?
i didn’t watch movies like “pulp fiction” or… id on’t knwo what else when they came one, but this one, I was part of the… movement
erm
:sprint:
I demand the :sprint: emoticon, and :bounce: and
u didn’t expect cheese after the first and second? esp. in nro.2 there like cheese for 4 films to give out…*roll* anyway i think i’ll survive, i want to see it anyway…
mmm… i think it will be some time before I see this…there’s a bus trip out to cambridge to see it this friday, but i have something against paying $15 to see a movie (when I see two for $7 every sunday in a perfectly respectible theatre by my standards..)
I only saw the first one for the first time this summer (had seen many a scenes, but never the whole thing beginning to end) then saw the 2nd one in september I think. They were enjoyable, but I guess I was exposed to way to much of other people’s obsessiveness over it..and I just don’t get it.
the last lord of the rings, on the otherhand, i already have a date for 😉
i thought on the history of film… my history as film prof always goes on about the cycles of the themes in film…. matrix is like a new spin on the themes of metropolis and blade runner i would think…. but i have to admit so many of today’s movies I can’t place in a cycle we’ve studied in that course. If film is a reflection of the ideas of a soceity, the early 2000s are full of a lot of fluff…so i could so see matrix being included in this course (history as film) in like 20 years or less.
hehe thx to this im back into the i have to see .. ive been afraid to cause everyone keeps saying they dont like it .. i was thinking you need a different mind set to like it … hopefully i wont be dissapointed 🙂
only after reading your comment i actually felt like i really REALLY want to see it O_o
such pretty design!
I just thought about it in the car today,
i was always talkign about how he can’t act, but in devil’s advocate i don’t remember him being that bad
AND he had to act against al pachino which is, like, i would imagine, a huge responsibility and stuff.
then i guess it is not his fault after all!
hesi there were many other distractions in devil’s advocate. 😛
